BEATA CZAPSKA

She graduated from the Faculty of Architecture at Silesian Technical University and from the Ecole Nationale Superieure des Beaux Arts in Paris. After graduating she went to Paris, where she worked for thirteen years as an architect. In addition to designing apartment buildings and villas, she also worked on interiors, as well as stands for the Fashion Fair in Paris. She also designed posters and painted murals. She sculpts directly into stone (taille directe) such as granite, marble and limestone. She works with wood and makes bronze casts. She is interested mostly in nature, drawn especially to wild animals, where she tries to capture their independence and expression. In animals she finds human qualities and expresses that in her sculptures. She also sculpts human forms like portraits in stone and bronze. She lives and works in Paris, and is a regular visitor to the Polish Sculpture Center in Orońsko where she works on monumental forms. Besides sculpture and design she creates big pastel drawings using quick and energetic lines, which allows her to express everything she cannot show in her sculptures. She has taken part in numerous Art Fairs in London, China, Warsaw and Paris. As one of the 12 sculptors she represented France at the exhibition „Excellence and Skill” in Xintiandi Mall, Shanghai, China in 2014.
